Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (depending on experience)

Job type: Perm

Work hours: 7am-5pm Monday to Thurs & 7am-3pm Fri

We're working with a leading manufacturer in Huddersfield who are looking to bring on a skilled, proactive and abitious Electrical Engineer to support their growing production team. With exciting expansion plans over the next five years, this is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark and grow with the business.

As part of a close-knit four-person engineering team, you'll be key in keeping the production lines running smoothly through both planned and reactive maintenance. Your goal: to minimise downtime and maximise performance across a range of machinery and systems.

Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and machinery to help prevent unexpected failures.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnosing and fixing faults to reduce downtime.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve machine performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and electrical regulations, maintaining up-to-date documentation for inspections and audits.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across systems and processes.
  • Conduct fault finding and root cause analysis on electrical components, including motors, PLCs, sensors, and wiring.
  • Assist in installing and commissioning new electrical equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders and part usage.
  • Support training initiatives for operators and junior staff on electrical safety and best practices.
  • Role is on-site no travel required.

Person specification:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering practices (essential)
  • NICEIC qualification or equivalent that allows you to sign off your own work (advantageous but not essential)
  • Able to use own initiative and put forward new ideas to improve efficiencies and processes
  • Proactive thinker with a can-do attitude and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable using computer IT illiterate
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
