OUTLINE OF JOB
Responsible for the implementation, calibration and commissioning of instrumentation, electrical equipment and control on test cells and rigs. Also carrying out data logging and test cell installations at customer locations globally.
Work closely with the Test Systems, Mechanical Facilities and Electrical / Electronics engineering groups within Test Technology to ensure compatibility and effectiveness of test cell systems.
Responsible for the provision, commissioning, fault finding and maintenance of electrical, electro-mechanical and instrumentation equipment on test facilities world-wide.
Works within standards set to ensure that work is conducted within relevant safety and design legislation and to Company standards.
Evaluates safety risk before proceeding with and during work activities. Works to daily changing priorities set by the Section Leader.
Develops skills continuously in line with technical advancements and changes in test facility design and operation.
Travels to customer sites globally to carry out data logging and test cell implementation
HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline, preferably electrical / electronic engineering.
17th Edition Wiring Regulation training.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Experienced in the construction and operation of test facilities and/or plant support services, with a background in measurement and instrumentation systems.
Experienced in working with engineer and technician groups, applying resource and managing priority conflicts appropriately to ensure that the test cells are available for use and capable of performing the required tests.
Experienced in building electrical equipment to current safety standards with minimum supervision.
Knowledgeable about computer system hardware and software used for gathering data.
