Duration: Temporary - Permanent
Location: Huddersfield
Pay: NMW starting salary.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm
Breaks: 30 minute lunch + 1x short break in the AM and PM.

The Job:
The main role of the junior sign maker is to assist the more senior staff members with their daily duties while learning the how to produce and install various forms of signs and graphics. Full in-house training will be provided for all sign making duties, further external training programs will be arranged as necessary once the candidate has progressed.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Keeping all areas of the workshop, yard, company vehicles and work sites clean, tidy and organised at all times.
- Taking care of deliveries into the workshop, dealing with paperwork and storing materials correctly.
- Using various computer controlled machines such as plotters and laminators to create graphics for signs and vehicles, then preparing them by hand ready for installation.
- Cutting sign panels to size using woodworking machinery or sometimes by hand, then applying graphics to them.
- Operating our flatbed printer to produce small direct printed objects, often in large numbers.
- Checking and suitably packing all completed work, communicating with customers and organising outgoing courier consignments where necessary.
- Preparing vehicles for graphics installation, and learning how to install a wide range of materials onto all types of vehicles. This will sometimes include removal of existing graphics.
- Assisting our installations team away from the workshop, learning how to install a wide range signs and graphics. This will sometimes include working at height from ladders, temporary scaffolding and powered access machines.
- Dealing with paperwork such as method statements, risk assessments, delivery notes and purchase orders.
Requirements:
- The suitable candidate will need to be motivated and conscientious, with a keen eye for detail, and will need to be a good team player with suitable communication skills.
- There will be the occasional need for overtime / weekend work, and sometimes working away from home with overnight hotel stays so must be flexible for this.
