Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Huddersfield
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 per annum Depending on Experience
Hours: 39 hours per week Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm & Friday 8am-1pm
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: April 2025

An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established industrial manufacturing firm, specialising in the design and development of complex assemblies. The role will involve 2D and 3D design, and requires a minimum of 2 years' experience within Industrial Design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex assemblies for manufacture.
  • Re-engineer existing products to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Create detailed technical drawings and manufacturing instructions.
  • Oversee the full manufacturing process to ensure deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Industry experience in mechanical design and development (ideally two or more years).
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and precision machined components.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Inventor) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD).
