Quality Engineering Manager
Up to £40,000 (DOE)
Based in Huddersfield our client are an ambitious engineering and manufacturing business with over 15 years' experience in designing, manufacturing and supplying their specialist products worldwide
Due to an expanding market they are now seeking the recruitment of a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer to join their business.
Job Description
Based at the Huddersfield manufacturing facility as the Quality Manager you will report directly into the Operations Director, responsible for all quality management systems including internal and external audits.
You will identify, design and drive improvement projects focused at achieving group wide objectives.
Additionally you will identify, train and support team members and employees and ensure a clear succession plan within your team.
Key Duties;
-Be part of the operations team, ensuring all day-to-day activities are completed - Team size 8.
-Lead new product approvals with customers, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed.
-Co-ordinate and record continual improvement activities with the all managers.
-Drive process improvements and identify areas of weakness or failure.
-Ensure all quality related certifications are maintained to the relevant standards.
-Ensure all production procedures are effective and working correctly.
-Lead online and telephone support to customers and distributers.
-Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes and product to ensure quality specifications are met.
-Lead quality investigations resulting from customer complaints liaising with the customers as required in a timely manner
-Identify issues through internal departmental checks, carry out investigations and audits, -identifying root cause and applying and following up corrective actions
-Conduct analysis, report on Key Performance Indicators and other relevant metrics.

The Successful Applicant to apply for this position you could be a current QM or Senior Quality Engineer looking for that next step in your career.
You will also have a background gained in manufacturing or engineering, with the ability to maintain QM systems which are in place.

-Competent to conduct internal and supplier audits
-Demonstrable experience of quality management systems / ISO 9001 gained in an engineering -or manufacturing environment.
-Experience implementing ISO9001 accreditation (desirable)
-Experience Implementing warehouse management systems (desirable)
-Good interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships, with all levels.
-Ability to identify, train and support a small team.
-Experience in lean manufacturing, tools and techniques
-Able to read and work from technical information
-Educated to HNC / HND / Degree or be a Time Served Engineer with relevant experience
