Secondary Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant

Stafflex Education is actively partnering with secondary schools and academies across Kirklees, Calderdale, and Wakefield, urgently seeking committed SEND Teaching Assistants for both immediate and January 2025 starts. We have day-to-day, long-term, and permanent positions to offer.

About the Role:
In this role, you'll work one-on-one with secondary pupils with additional needs, providing crucial support in various curriculum subjects, helping them develop social skills, and ensuring they stay engaged and on track academically. You'll collaborate closely with classroom teachers and offer assistance to the broader class as needed, helping to create a positive, inclusive environment.

Requirements:

  • Recent Secondary Experience - Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils, ideally in a one-on-one capacity
  • SEND/SEMH Expertise - Proven ability to support students with SEND or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Minimum Qualifications - Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Nurturing Approach - Strong behaviour management skills and a caring, supportive manner
  • Collaborative Skills - Ability to work effectively with students and staff
  • Detailed Work History - A comprehensive CV showing 10 years' employment history, with explanations for any gaps
  • Safeguarding Compliance - Enhanced DBS, professional references, and Overseas Police Clearances (where applicable)
  • Legal Right to Work - Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Face-to-Face Registration - Willingness to attend an in-person registration interview
