Job Description

Our extremely well established client are looking for a valve fitter to join their skilled team.

8.00-16.00 with ½ hour lunch Monday to Thursday and 8.00-15.30 on Friday.

However during September they would expect at least 2 hours a day overtime and possibly include weekend working.

This role is to provide the business with a level of skills for the strip,assembly and instrumentation testing of a range of valves that will be undertaken by the business. Where the individual has not got the necessary skill sets required, a level of training will be given for the individual to obtain the required skill sets, to enable them to carry out the above requirement with minimal supervision.

Primary Tasks

To work in a workshop location, stripping + identifying/ bringing to the attention of
the Production coordinator, any damage that has been noticed during the
dismantling of valve.
Completion of in-house repair documentation
Carry out the assembly and commissioning of repaired or new valves to the appropriate standard and specification set in place by relevant supporting documents
Testing of valves to appropriate API/ASME/BSO standard or to the client's specific
test requirements.
Completion of repair documentation or customer specific documentation as required,
Ensuring that the appropriate hold points/inspection points are adhered to as 3'd
party signatories/verification.
Understand the customers' requirements as regards deliveries which may involve
Excessive hours to achieve required deliveries
Maintain a good level of housekeeping within the working environment you are
Currently in.
Carry out responsibly the companies, its customers and statutory requirements for
health, safety and the environment.
Positively promote the company's products/services/reputation through actions of

Key business objectives

To gain knowledge and the ability to problem solve issues that you come across on a
day to day basis on repairs within the workshops.
Fully understand the STD that needs to be achieved on valve repairs.
Carry out the above duties with minimal supervision.
Reach an acceptable STD of competence which allows you/the business to send
Individuals to site jobs to carry out work under supervision

To gain competence on a range of valves (to have/gain knowledge on control, Choke,butterfly, isolation, PSV + instrumentation) where required seek support from appropriate or appointed senior fitter in helping to resolve dismantling/assembly +Testing issues
