New Dawn Resources and Stafflex host Local Business Forum on Mental Health at Work

Wednesday, January 2, 2019

New Dawn Resources, the HR outsourcing and employment law specialist, has partnered with Huddersfield recruitment agency Stafflex to stage a local business forum on human resources and employment law, the first of which will focus on mental health in the workplace.

Held at New Dawn Resources’ Holmfirth office at 8.30 am on Thursday 17 January, representatives from each organisation will share their knowledge and expertise, covering all aspects of the staff cycle - from recruitment to dismissal, temporary workers, permanent and long-term employees. The forum is free to attend, but attendees will need to book their place in advance.

Kate Booth, New Dawn’s employment law expert, and Maggie Netherwood, Deputy MD at Stafflex, will chair the group discussion, which is free to attend. Members of the forum will be given the opportunity to request discussion topics in advance, or to put forward a case study from their own workplace to discuss with the group.

Kate Booth said: “We look forward to meeting with local businesses to discuss the challenges they face and how they can be overcome to help them improve relations with their employees, while also remaining compliant with all relevant legislation.”

Topics covered will include

●    Mental health and the issues it is causing for employers

●    How to identify and deal with mental health issues proactively in the workplace

●    How to manage absences related to mental health

●    Brief update on key employment law issues
