Tuesday, December 10, 2019
The second Stafflex Education Christmas Card Competition has been a huge success with over 450 entries submitted from schools and nurseries across Kirklees and Calderdale.
Many congratulations to the winner, Malyaka (age 15) from Thornhill Community Academy. Her school will receive a £250 Art Supplies voucher and Malyaka will receive a Gift Card to spend at one of her favourite stores.
Malyaka commented: “I was totally shocked when I was told that my entry was the winning design of the competition, but I am really pleased to have won.”
And also well done to Dylan (age 6) from Brighouse School’s Out Scheme and Falak (age 8) from Headfield Junior School who both won the runner-up prize of £100 Art Supplies for their school.
The winning card will be used as the official Stafflex Christmas card for 2019 and will be sent to thousands of clients and candidates over the festive period.
Rosie Stahelin, Education Manager, said: “It’s great to see so many schools entering the competition this year. The winning cards were absolutely fantastic in particular Malyaka’s design really did blow the judges away!”
“We understand that schools are under increasing pressure to cut budgets in the creative arts subjects so it’s great to be able to help with art supplies vouchers for the schools of the winner and runner-ups.”
Malyaka’s card design will also be on display at this year’s Huddersfield Winter Festival inside the tipi at St. George’s Square throughout December.
