Stafflex Christmas Card Competition winner announced

Wednesday, December 12, 2018

The first Stafflex Education Christmas Card Competition has been a huge success with over 400 entries submitted from schools and nurseries across Kirklees and Calderdale.

Many congratulations to the winner, Aroush (age 8) from Headfield C E (c) Junior School. His/her school will receive a £250 Art Supplies voucher and Aroush will receive a Gift Card to spend at one of his/her favourite stores.

And also well done to Tehreem (age 5) from St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School who won the runner-up prize of £100 Art Supplies for her school.

The card will be used as the official Stafflex Christmas card for 2018 and will be sent to thousands of clients and candidates over the festive period.

Rosie Stahelin, Education Manager, said: “We were blown away by all the fantastic designs which made it very difficult to choose a winner, but Aroush’s really stood out with her creative and unique take on reindeers.”

“We understand that schools are under increasing pressure to cut budgets in the creative arts subjects so it’s great to be able to help with art supplies vouchers for the schools of the winner and runner-up.”

The competition was judged by David Coldwell, a well-known local artist who was behind ‘Marsden the Poetry Village’, Rosie Stahelin Education Manager and Katrina Cross Industrial Manager.

The card designs will be on display at this year’s Huddersfield Winter Festival inside the tipi at St. George’s Square throughout December.
