Stafflex to launch training division with Team Teach courses
Thursday, December 21, 2017
Recruitment specialist Stafflex have started developing a training division using Team Teach training, a nationally recognised programme providing positive handling, restraint reduction, de-escalation and behaviour management courses to its teachers and support staff.
Team Teach is the only training programme in the UK which focuses on physical intervention techniques and has received a National Training award – the highest level of award obtainable in the UK which is also supported by the government.
The Stafflex education team are currently training to become licenced Advanced Team Teach Tutors with a view to holding Stafflex run courses in the next academic year. The first batch of courses jointly run by Stafflex and Team Teach were fully booked and the positive feedback from attendees is now being used to develop the courses even further.
Team Teach also rewards Continuing Professional Development (CPD) which is an important aspect in improving teachers’ skills and personal development as these accreditations can dramatically help candidates secure permanent roles.
Education team manager, Rosie Stahelin said: “The course really empowers teachers with the knowledge and skills to help students and children learn how to better manage their feelings and improve their all-round behaviour which is an issue at most schools and colleges.
“We know that courses can have a negative impact on the organisation of a school day so we decided to run all of ours in the evenings, at weekends or during school holidays. This way there is more consistency and our supply teachers do not lose out on a day’s pay to attend a course.”
The 12 Hour Basic Team Teach course will be spread over two days taking place at the Kirklees College in Huddersfield.
