Stafflex joins the Welcome Centre as a Corporate Sponsor

Huddersfield-based business Stafflex has made a corporate donation to help fund the running costs of The Welcome Centre, a local charity based in Huddersfield town centre.

The Welcome Centre provides support to individuals and families in crisis in the south Kirklees area. The Welcome Centre distributes food parcels, toiletry packs, kitchen packs, bedding packs, and clothing, to people whose circumstances mean they’re unable to afford these items for themselves and their families. The Centre also employs a Development Worker to provide extra guidance and support to clients on a one to one basis, and to help them access the support of other charities in the area.

Last year, The Welcome Centre gave out almost 9,000 packs to help people in crisis in Huddersfield and the surrounding area. Those packs go to support people from a wide range of circumstances, including people coping with job loss, debt, eviction, homelessness, domestic violence, drug or alcohol problems, and physical and mental health problems.

Huddersfield-based Stafflex, which is one of the largest independent recruitment agencies in the north, has chosen to support The Welcome Centre as a corporate partner, providing a much needed annual donation to support the charity’s work.

Ellie Pearson, Centre Manager at The Welcome Centre, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Stafflex for the support they are giving to us. Every year we support thousands of families and individuals struggling to make ends meet; the support we provide is in many cases enough to stop a short term crisis turning into a tragedy. Without the generosity and support of local businesses, groups, and individuals, we wouldn’t be able to continue to support those most in need in our community.”

Maggie Netherwood, Director of Sales and Customer Service, said: “Stafflex are glad to have the opportunity to invest in the well-being of our local community. We applaud the way in which the Welcome Centre operates and wish it the very best of luck over the coming year.”
