Stafflex supports Kirklees College Foundation Breakfast Club for third year running

Stafflex has continued its support for the Kirklees College Foundation Breakfast Club initiative for the third year running.
The Foundation Breakfast Club was launched two years ago by the Kirklees College Foundation department as they found that a number of students were turning up to the college without having any breakfast. This directly impacted on their learning as they were unable to concentrate in class because they were so hungry.
Students that are experiencing difficulties can speak with a member of the Foundation Studies team at the college. It is then arranged for them to receive a hot drink and healthy breakfast in the morning’s before classes begin at 9.00 a.m.
Peter Joseph, Further Education specialist, said: “We’re delighted to support the breakfast club again this year. It’s a fantastic initiative that provides the students with a great start to the day helping to improve social skills, performance and behaviour that are all essential skills in a young person’s development.”
Jane Brown, key worker at Kirklees College said: “We can’t thank Stafflex enough for their kind generosity and support of our breakfast initiative for the third year running. Without their continued support it would be a struggle to offer the level of provision that we are currently able to do.”
“Not only does it allow the team to supply a hot drink, tea and toast at breakfast to those in need, but in some circumstances lunch as well. It continues to make a huge difference to the welfare of our students.”
